The Colonel By abounds with on-site services enabling you to enjoy activities planned by our full-time activity co-ordinator, complete hairdressing and barber services at our salon, and services in our non-denominational chapel.

Our scenic Lookout Lounge has a beautiful view of the Canal and is used for afternoon tea and cocktails, bridge and movie night. Other common areas include an activity room, an elegant library, an old-fashioned ice cream parlour, a bright sunroom, and a spacious courtyard. Delicious meals prepared by our chef are served in our two full-service dining rooms. As well, a private dining room can be reserved for special gatherings with family or friends.

The Colonel By also has a driver who drives residents to medical appointments Monday-Friday.

Above all else, this is your home. We encourage you to bring your personal treasures and furniture, decorating and arranging things to suit your taste. Each suite is designed for comfort and safety and features individually controlled heat and air-conditioning, 24-hour emergency response call system, a kitchenette and a private bathroom. Choose from our 45 styles of one room suites or 15 styles of two room suites. Beautifully appointed, the lounges and common areas are large and bright, providing the best setting for quiet relaxation or a chat while the outdoor setting is perfect for a scenic stroll.

Each meal is served graciously in one of our intimate and relaxing dining rooms. Our menu selections are suited to your personal dietary needs, and between meals, you can enjoy snacks that are served during tea and coffee everyday at 10:30am and 2:30pm. Family and guests are always welcome and we are always glad to serve.
